In 1969, a few steps from the sea and from the temples at Paestum, Donna Giuseppa Chiumiento – known to her friends as 'Sceppa – opened the "al Gelso d'Oro" trattoria in Capaccio with her sons.

A small inn with genuine and sincere cuisine created to welcome hungry hunters and fishermen on return from their labours. But it is was when Giuseppa's grandchildren, Raffaele and Luigi Chiumiento, took over the reins that the restaurant grew further and became the reference point for Italian catering. A reference point that still retains the familiarity that had made it a special place from the beginning.

Nonna Sceppa is a combination of ingredients and elements, balances and textures, contrasts and harmonies: a special recipe with 4 women in the kitchen, Anna and Pina – Giuseppa's grandchildren – and their sisters-in-law Francesca and Cinzia.

Welcoming guests, always with grace, courtesy and excellent service, there is the rest of the family: Luigi and his son Antonio, Luigino, son of Anna and the young Davide, son of Francesca and of Raffaele Chiumiento.

Entering the restaurant is like going home: everyone remembers the tastes and habits of each more or less habitual customer, anticipating their preferences or requests with small details that become part of memory.
